Basing on the financial report of 17 seafood joint stock companies listed on Ho Chi Minh city stock exchange from 2012 to 2016, this study evaluated the efficiency of using capital as well as examined factors that affect the capital structure of Vietnamese seafood companies. The results show that some factors, including company scale, capital structure, revenue growth rate and corporate tax rate have effected on the capital structure of seafood companies. It also shows that most companies relied greatly on borrowing, but the efficiency of using capital was not the same among them. There are some companies which were good at using the capital to increase the values of their enterprises, but some did not use well.
